In its simplest form a ceiling mounted lift system consists of a lift that rides on a track attached to the ceiling. The caregiver places the patient in a sling (this can be done without any lifting) attaches the sling to the lift which then raises the patient into the air. Once the patient has been lifted they can easily move anywhere along the track. Ceiling mounted lifts are often used to transfer patients between bed and wheelchair and into the bathroom to use the toilet or tub.
EHLS offers patient transfer lifts that are either portable or permanent. Click the ‘Lifts’ tab above to learn more.
Ceiling Mounted Lifts (CML’s) are ideal solutions to assist in lifting and transferring of those with mobility challenges
- Provide a safe and secure way to transfer – without risk
- Protect caregivers from strain when lifting and transferring
- Allow a single caregiver to manage the transfer safely
- Require less space and are far more stable than a rolling patient lift
